If your beloved kitty shies away from the cat carrier because she associates it with going to the vet or elsewise, try this: turn the crate on its back with the open door facing up. Pick your cat up by the scruff of her neck while holding her hind legs with your other hand, and carefully lower her into the crate, legs first. This avoids her seeing the carrier’s entrance so she shouldn’t struggle. Once she’s in, latch the door, and carefully turn the crate right side up. If you have an especially aggressive kitty, you may want to wear gloves!!
