Tip of the Day: Keeping Food Safe During Power Outage
Power outages can come ANY time of the year. Right now, due to ice or snow storms and even heavy rain. If you should lose power for any length of time try to follow these helpful tips to keep your food safe:
Keep refrigerator and freezer doors closed
Buy dry or block ice
Use coolers to store your perishables
Group your foods together in the freezer
Discard perishables (meat, poultry, fish, cheese, eggs, milk, deli items) after four hours without power and NEVER taste to determine its safety!!!
Hopefully, none of us will need this, but it is still good to know!
