We all love our pets and a few things to remember for their summer safety, especially to prevent overheating and dehydration, are to keep them indoors on hot and humid days, NEVER leave your pet in a car on a hot day, fair-haired pets can get sunburned, apply sunscreen to nose, tips of ears, and any hairless areas, don’t walk your dog on hot pavements, be sure they have plenty of water, keep them away from lawns that have been treated with fertilizers or insecticides, don’t let your dog hang his head out of the car window, he could get debris in his eye or worse yet, fall out of the moving car, and keep your pets away from puddles of water because they may be contaminated. Treat your baby like a child and you should have a great summer and no unexpected visits to the vet!
