If you have ceiling fans in your home the blades should rotate in opposite directions for summer and winter. This optimizes your comfort and saves heating and air conditioning energy. In summer the blades should rotate counterclockwise and in the winter they should rotate clockwise. This circulates the air in the most efficient way. There is a little switch on the side of the base of the fan to accomplish this change.
