If gravy stains are one of your concerns, add 1/4 teaspoon of dish liquid and 3 drops of ammonia to a 1/2 cup of warm water. Using a clean cloth, press this solution onto the stain (do not rub!). Wash as usual. If the stain is on silk or wool use club soda instead of ammonia.
