That carton of berries you just bought is moldy!! Oh, no! Don’t toss yet, instead mix 1 part white vinegar with 10 parts of water in a bowl. Add and swish the berries gently in this solution. Drain and pat dry. Store in the refrigerator. The diluted vinegar will kill the mold spores without leaving a vinegary taste and your berries should stay fresh for at least another week. Don’t throw your money away! If you have herbs that you want to keep fresh, trim the stems and place in a jar with 1″ of water. Loosely cover with a plastic bag and store in the fridge. These won’t wilt and will stay fresher.
