There is always confusion about the dates on the products we consume and use. This causes waste of many items that are still perfectly good. These dates are mostly provided for the stores to know which product to sell first. Many items are still perfectly good after the sell by date has passed. The best rule is to use your nose to detect any unusual odor and your eyes to see if there are appearance changes in the food. Save money and sniff before tossing!
