Even though it seems like it shouldn’t be, washing machines need to be cleaned to remove smelly mildew and mold as well as rid detergent build up. There are products you can buy, but there’s an easy way to DIY with something you probably have on hand. Hydrogen peroxide. Run an EMPTY hot cycle with 2 cups of peroxide instead of detergent. Do this once a month or as needed to eliminate odors and oxidize mold, mildew, and buildup.
