Winter takes its toll on our rugs and carpets. I know mine can use a refresher. Here’s an easy and inexpensive way to give your carpeting a a fresh scent and rid allergens without using any chemicals: in a plastic container combine 1 cup of baking soda with 1 cup of borax. Shake over your carpets and rugs. Leave on for about 5 minutes then vacuum away. The baking soda will have deodorized while the ever multi-purpose borax will have killed dust mites and any allergens present.
