Tip of the Day: Foam Peanuts for Planter Drainage

It’s gardening time! Here’s a way to recycle packing peanuts: in flower pots, especially those that do not have drainage holes, it’s a good idea to put a layer of foam packing peanuts in the bottom to allow for drainage so the roots of your plant will not get soggy. It’s also a great idea to put a fairly deep layer of peanuts in those very large planters that hold so much potting soil (you will use a lot less soil!). This will work for both indoor and outdoor planters.
