Tip of the Day: Keep Your Bouquets Fresh with Charcoal

Fresh flowers are a wonderful treat and instant decoration. To keep yours from wilting too soon, add a piece of plain, untreated lump charcoal into an opaque vase of water. The porous charcoal will filter any impurities in the water (these contributing to the wilting) and the opaque vase limits the light exposure that encourages bacteria growth.
