Keeping grimy gas burners clean is a challenge because scrubbing them can be a real workout. Instead, pour 1/4 cup of household ammonia in a large zip-top bag, place the burner inside, zip up, and leave overnight. The fumes in the ammonia are very powerful (as we know!!) so they will effectively dissolve the grease and grime so you can wipe it away with a damp sponge. Rinse and dry off the burner and replace onto the stovetop.
