DON’T rewash!!! That’s not the solution if your clothing has a musty odor. Instead, rerun the load with 1 cup of baking soda that’s been sprinkled directly into the washer’s drum and wash using warm or hot water as per fabric directions. When done, dry immediately and thoroughly this will prevent the odor from returning. It will work because bacteria and mildew multiply when wet clothes sit too long. The baking soda neutralizes odor compounds and raises the water’s pH which makes it harder for microbes to survive.
