Tip of the Day: Ceiling Fans Can Warm Your Home

Don’t think you should only turn ceiling fans on in the Summer. Heat rises, so if you set ceiling fans on low and turn the blades clockwise (there’s a tiny switch on the base of the fan to change the blades direction) in Winter the rising heat will circulate downward and help warm up the room.
