If you’re thinking about carving a pumpkin use your fingernail to press on the skin. If it’s hard or bumpy it will be more of a chore to carve than fun! Long, tall, thin pumpkins are best for Frankenstein-type carvings and squatty ones will show off better for silly faces. Spray a thin coat of shellac over your finished product to keep any critters from nibbling on your creation and preserve it longer.
