Brrrr! It’s getting cold! It’s time to take sweaters, blankets, and other articles out of storage. If they smell musty, don’t worry, spritz them with a mixture of equal parts rubbing alcohol and water in a spray bottle. Make sure you do both sides. If any are dry clean only, test on a small area, otherwise, the alcohol will kill the odor-causing bacteria without harming your fabrics. Next year, before storing, clean sweaters and tuck them into breathable cotton storage bags. If you add a few lavender sachets they will keep the moths away and your clothing will smell fresh!
