Tip of the Day: Wax Paper Helps Hangers Glide on a Closet Rod
Use wax paper to help hangers glide more easily on a closet rod. Wax paper has a light coating of wax (usually paraffin), which creates a slick surface. When you rub it along the closet rod, it transfers a thin layer of that wax, reducing friction. Tear off a sheet of wax paper (about 12″–18″). Fold it a few times to make it more durable and easier to grip. Firmly rub it back and forth along the closet rod, covering the whole length. Test with a hanger. Repeat if needed for smoother movement. This trick also works on drawer slides, window tracks, and sticking zippers.
