Tip of the Day: When Do Medications Go Bad?

Many over-the-counter medications, pain relievers, laxatives, and allergy medications, will be effective up to 6 months after the expiration date on the label. Liquid meds, such as cough suppressants do not have the same life expectancy as pills. That being said, use under advisement. Most of us store these substances in our medicine cabinet. Not a good idea! The bathroom is too hot and moist. Pick a dark, cool, dry place like a dresser drawer or in a cabinet.
