Tip of the Day: Rid Rust from Cutlery with an Onion
When you have onions that have sprouted or are on their way out for your meals, don’t toss them yet! They are a perfect fix for any rusty knives, forks, or spoons that you may have! The onions contain allianases which is an enzyme that breaks down rust. To do, slice the onion in half and rub the cut side over ANY rusty items: garden tools, screws, and pots and pans. Watch as the shiny metal surfaces reappear!
