Self-cleaning ovens use HIGH heat in the cleaning mode. These temperatures can damage the oven door’s seal causing heat to escape and a costly repair bill. To clean your oven in a safer way, place a water-filled baking pan in the oven at 425° for one hour. Cool the oven off and wipe down the oven walls with a damp cloth.
