Tip of the Day: Soothe Sunburn with a Tomato
This is the time of the year that when you least expect it, you get sunburned! Soothe red and irritated skin by pureeing a frozen tomato in the blender (keep a tomato in the freezer for these purposes). Slather the tomato all over the affected area and let sit for 15 minutes. As soon as this touches the skin the cool pulp and juice reduce the heat for instant relief. The lycopene, which is a powerful antioxidant, encourages skin cell repair for speedy healing.
