It’s a good idea to get a cheap ice cube tray at the Dollar Store. Fill all or some of the compartments with dish liquid and freeze. These will come in handy the next time you have to remove stubborn, stuck-on food from your pots and pans. To do, place the frozen cube in the warm pan. Add hot water. As the cube melts use a sponge to scrub away the burned-on food. This will work because dish soap is made to break down grease and the freezing concentrates the soap. As the cube dissolves it releases a stream of detergent that will lift off the residue and the cold firms it up so it scrubs off easily.
