Tip of the Day: Clean Tarnished Silverware Without Chemicals
Skip the pricey silverware polishes and cleaners. They contain harmful chemicals plus you need your elbow grease to get them shiny. Instead, line a bowl with aluminum foil. Add your silver items, 1-2 tablespoons of baking soda, and boiling water. The tarnish with lift right off. The foil, the baking soda, and the boiling water create a chemical reaction that transfers the tarnish to the foil. When clean, store with a piece of chalk to keep tarnish at bay.
