Tip of the Day: Waterproof Wooden Cutting Boards with Coconut Oil
When your wooden cutting board starts to look dry and dingy, wash as you usually do, then, on a clean cloth, add a dollop of coconut oil and rub in. The oil fills all the crevices and will prevent water from entering which is the cause of cracking and splitting. A bonus: the oil’s natural anti-bacterial properties help to keep the board sanitary. Do this every 2 weeks or so as need.
