Tip of the Day: Salt Stains on Shoes & Boots? White Vinegar to the Rescue!

We had a substantial snow storm yesterday, so if you did too, or will, and your shoes and boots get those ugly white street salt stains on them, here’s what to do: combine 2 parts water and 1 part white vinegar. Dip a cloth in this mixture and wipe away the stains. The vinegar is strong enough to rid the salt and won’t damage leather shoes.
