It can be extremely annoying to have pesky flies hovering around your food, especially when corn on the cob is on the menu, at an outdoor gathering. A very simple solution is to fill a plastic zip top bag with water and place inside as many shiny pennies or coins you can find. The refracted light coming from the water confuses the flies while the coins get magnified in the water making them look like other insect’s eyes to the flies thus scaring them away! Start collecting those pennies!
