Tip of the Day: Tenderize Tough Meat with Coffee
It’s grilling time! If you have a tough piece of meat an easy way to tenderize it so it’s juicy and delicious is by first, coating it with olive oil. Now, rub a mixture of 1/4 cup fresh coffee grounds, 2 tablespoons of brown sugar, 1 tablespoon of salt, and 2 tablespoons of black pepper all over both sides of the meat. Let sit for half an hour, then cook. The tannic acid in the coffee breaks down the tough muscle fibers in the meat. Yum!
