If you are spiffing up your home for holiday guests and you notice a stain or two on your carpet, don’t fret! You don’t have to shampoo the entire rug. Instead, sprinkle table salt on the stain. Pour a little club soda on top. Leave for several hours, then blot with a dry cloth. The carbon dioxide in the soda will gently break down the stain while the salt absorbs the discolored liquid. Done!
