If there are lingering odors on your bedding and clothing, you can be rid of them once and for all by mixing 1/2 cup of baking soda in water. Pour this over the dry garments while in your washer. Let this sit overnight, then wash as you normally would. Baking soda neutralizes odor-causing chemicals so it removes the smells. Detergents only mask odors.
