After you’ve enjoyed a cozy fire does your home smell smoky? To rid that lingering odor, after the fire has burned out, sprinkle used coffee grounds over the ashes. These will absorb and neutralize the odor created by the wood smoke. Another plus, the damp grounds will cause the soot to clump so cleanup will be easy! Not a coffee drinker? In the morning, vacuum out the cool ashes and place a shallow pan of baking soda in the firepit to absorb the lingering odor.
