#ad Summer is almost over! Soon school buses will driving down the streets. Now is  the best time to buy school supplies if you want to save, instead of waiting until the first few days back. If you are lucky enough to have a school list, shop now, online or in the stores such as Staples and your local supermarkets. They have the best bargains. They take coupons too! If you don’t have a list yet, buy basic school needs, you can’t go wrong. Don’t forget, backpacks and lunchboxes are on sale too. Buy now because the selections are never better.

It’s a great time to stock up on firewood! You can get it cheapest now while it is NOT peak season. Ask for green wood that’s too early to burn now, but store it in a dry area so it will be ready for Winter burning.

August is also the time to check you nightwear inventory. Pajamas and other sleepwear will be on sale. Of course, bargains galore on Summer clothing, handbags, and accessories will be available too. There is still plenty of time use these or else save for next year.

Storage items are aplenty in stores and online. It doesn’t matter if you are furnishing a dorm room, a new apartment, or just organizing your own abode. Also, towels, sheets, and other bedding have special prices. These are always necessary whether you are going back to college or not! Now is the time to buy while the selections are almost boundless and most are on sale!

Air conditioners and lawn mower prices will be dropping just like the temperature! If you think this will be the last Summer for yours, or you want to get a new one, shop now for a good price. There are plenty of sunny days ahead to make use of them. Pool supplies and outdoor furniture prices will be coming down this month too.

If you like camping and the outdoors, plan now for your Labor Day weekend. Because camping supplies take up valuable real estate in stores you’ll get the best prices on tents and outdoor gear as the stores stock up for the coming Winter activities.

Is a new car in your future? This could be the month you’ll make your dream a reality. Car dealers want to weed out their inventory so they’ll  have plenty of room for the 2023 models. Statistics show the first two days in the month of August will save you cash better than other days. Also, these two days count towards July’s quota for salesmen so they will be eager to help you.

If you can convince your kids to buy last year’s model sneakers you’ll save a bundle as stores try to rid the leftovers!

Need some bling? There are no holidays in August so jewelry retailers will try to lure you in with their sales. Remember, it’s never to early to shop for the holidays!!

In the grocery store combine your coupons with back-to-school foods because these will all be on sale: American cheese, lunch meat, yogurt, chips, soda, snack cakes, cookies, bottled water, iced tea, and drink boxes, pudding cups, bread, cereal, and frozen waffles. In the produce section look for sales on apples, avocados, green beans, berries, corn, cucumber, eggplant, figs, grapes, melons, onions, peaches, pears, peppers, plums, raspberries, Summer squash, and tomatoes. Don’t forget the germ-fighters for school or home like Purell, Lysol, and Clorox. Summer supplies like sunscreen and bug spray, even charcoal, should be discounted too. The supplies are starting to be replenished at most stores and there are even some coupons available. Stock up now while you can!

The last days of Summer are upon us. Stay healthy and safe, and of course, save!
