Tip of the Day: Cut Onions Stay Fresh with Butter

If you have a leftover onion half, coat the cut surface with butter and wrap in foil or plastic and place in the fridge. This way it won’t spoil before you can use it again because the milk fats in the butter create an airtight seal to keep bacteria from growing on the surface of the onion. The onion will last longer.
