This Spring you can keep your small, hand garden tools rust-free and ready to go to work with a pail of sand and some spray cooking oil (like PAM). Fill the bucket, add sand, and thoroughly mix and add the cooking spray until all is moist. Now, after gardening you can slide your tools into the sand, making sure you cover the metal parts, so they’ll be ready for next time. The sand and oil forms a protective covering to block out water that will keep your tools rust-free. Also, you’ll always know just where to find them!
