Tip of the Day: Remove Fireplace Ash Stains
If you have a wood-burning fireplace you may have ash stains on your carpeting and even your shirt sleeves. To rid these, sprinkle the stains with baking soda. Let this sit for about an hour before vacuuming up or shaking off. Finish up with a wiping with a damp sponge. The baking soda is absorbent so it will pull the ash out of the fabrics.
