The less gas your car has in it the fuel tank gets hotter. So, if you fill up on an almost empty tank, the cold fuel against the hot pump can give both a shock! If this is a regular occurrence, your fuel pump will burn out prematurely. Filling up at the 1/4 full indication will keep your car running at optimal condition.
