Tip of the Day: Heal Wounds with Honey
If you scrape a knee or get a kitchen burn against a pot or oven rack, reach for a jar of honey to soothe the wound. Honey will form a protective barrier plus its anti-bacterial compounds kill germs that can cause infection. In addition, the antioxidants in honey stop inflammation that slows the healing process. Simply apply a coat of honey to the area and cover with a bandage. Raw honey works best because processing destroys the protective compounds in the sweetener.
