Tip of the Day: Cleaning Your Hammock
If you are lucky enough to be able to spend the lazy days of Summer in a hammock you know it can get dirty outdoors. To clean a cotton hammock, set aside the wood spreader bars and soak in the bathtub filled with a mild detergent (like dish liquid). Knead the rope as it soaks. Rinse off and dry. If yours is polyester, bring it outside then fill a pump spray bottle with one cup of bleach, 1 gallon of warm water, and a few drops of dish liquid. Spray thoroughly. Let the hammock bake in the sun for about 20 minute then hose off.
