Tip of the Day: Rid Bed Pillows of Skin Cells, Oils, & Mites
Our bed pillows are with us every evening. They trap dead skin cells, body oils, and even dust mites, UGH! That can’t help us to sleep any better! Do you notice your pillow covering is yellow? That’s what happens! A fix, rather than a replacement, is to soak your pillow(s) in the tub in a solution of 2 cups of hot water, 1 cup of hydrogen peroxide, and 1/2 cup of white vinegar for half an hour. Toss in a trash bag after squeezing as much liquid out of them. Transport to your washing machine. Remove from the trash bag and wash and dry as usual. The peroxide and vinegar will have destroyed the skin cells so your pillow will look like new again!
