We have all spilled cooking oil on the counters and floor. It can be a slippery mess. Not to mention when you try mopping it up with paper towels it only makes matters worse by smearing and spreading the oil. Next time, hopefully not, but probably, grab some used coffee grounds. Cover the spill and wait about 5 minutes. The grounds will soak up the oil so you can sweep it up. Always double check if on the floor that no more slick surfaces remain.
