Tip of the Day: Save Wine for Cooking with Vegetable Oil

If you have a little wine leftover from dinner and plan to use it as an ingredient for another meal later in the week, add 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil to the bottle. Refrigerate. The oil will float to the top of the wine creating a barrier which will seal in the flavor and prevent oxidation.
