Tip of the Day: Prolong Cast-Iron Cookware Life
Once you splurge and cook with a cast-iron pot or pan you’ll know what all the hype is about. However, they tend to rust! UGH! To prevent this damage and keep your cookware in good condition, wipe clean as usual, then place a flattened, unused paper coffee filter in the pan before you store it, without a lid, in a cool dry cabinet. The coffee filter is porous so it will absorb any rust-inducing moisture. An added bonus is if you stack your cookware, the paper filter will keep them from scratching.
