Tip of the Day: Tomatoes 101
It’s almost the end of tomato season in our gardens! They are good for you because they can help reduce bad cholesterol and triglycerides which can lower heart disease risk. If you are lucky enough to have grown your own, when picked, store them stem-side down at room temperature for use within 3 days. If you buy your tomatoes look for the heavy ones with vibrant green stems as they will be juicier. Yum!
