Tip of the Day: Salt Removes Splinters!
Those pesky little slivers of wood cause such pain when we get a splinter. Not only annoying, they should be removed so as not to cause any infection. Rid a splinter by soaking the area in 1 cup of warm water that has been mixed with 1/4 cup of table salt. Osmotic pressure will bring the splinter closer to the surface so you will be able to grab it with a tweezer. If a tweezer isn’t handy, dry your skin and cover with a piece of duct tape. Pull back gently in the direction of the splinter and it should stick to the tape.
