March comes in like a lion leaves like a lamb. We’ll see! Afterall, the groundhog DID see his shadow! If  you are already packing up your Winter coats, boots, gloves, and hats or not, you’ll be able to find lots of markdowns in-stores and online this month. Look for leftovers that can be saved for next year or used on colder days left this month. This is a great time to weed out old, worn out gloves and mittens and get new ones for next year.

In addition to March Madness sales, sports fans can get deals on golf clubs and sets as new equipment inventory are starting to hit the shelves. For those stay-at-home fans, related video games will be cheaper! If you like outdoor Winter sports you’ll get bargains on skis, snowboards, sleds, and other Winter toys.

Pi Day is 3-14 (get it?) There should be offers on that day that cost $3.14 so keep your eyes opened mainly for fast-food items.

In the Electronics departments look for the older models to be on sale. If you are afraid you will get second best, ask associates what the upgrades are. Many times you won’t even need them! TV’s are a good buy too. Even though Black friday is the best time to buy, if you missed out, you’ll get a bargain now.

If you are planning a getaway, luggage will be reduced as travel plans start to be booked. As March is the end of Wave Season, it’s one of the last chances of the year to find great discounts on Cruises. Book now.

Tax time is around the corner. If you are doing your own taxes, tax software will be on sale to help you out. Check Staples and Amazon for the best deals.

You’ll find discounts on Glassware, Flatware, and China at big box stores and online for brides-to-be or if you are setting up a new home, or just updating, this is a good time to buy.

Look for leftover Garden tool inventory. What is available may be discounted because soon Garden departments and shops will be filled with supplies to help Spring flowers bloom!

Cleaning products are on sale now too. Whether you’re stocking up for Spring cleaning or just replenishing your supplies, buy them now!

Free Cone Day is usually the first day of Spring, this year it is March 19th at 11:06 pm,  therefore, it will probably be on March 20th. Even though Ben & Jerry’s started this sweet holiday, Dairy Queen celebrates as well as Baskin Robbins, and other ice cream parlors. Check the ones near you for the exact date.

March is Frozen Food Month at the supermarket. It’s a great time to stock your freezer with frozen meals, pizza, vegetables, ice cream, breakfast foods, and more. You’ll be happy you did as the weather gets nicer and you’d rather plan outdoor activities than shop! Start looking for coupons in the Sunday newspapers for extra savings. Don’t forget to check online coupon sites or your favorite brands sites often to see what they offer. Stock up on your favorite brands if you have freezer-room. You’ll be happy you did when the prices go up. March 7th is National Cereal Day! Look for deals on hot and cold cereals. As we near St. Patrick’s Day (3-17), corned beef, cabbage, and potatoes will be specially priced at supermarkets and grocery stores. If this is a meal you fancy more than once a year, buy several packages of corned beef to freeze for the next time you are in the mood. In the produce section find special prices on artichokes, asparagus, avocados, broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, celery, collards, fennel, kale, lemons and limes, mushrooms, onions, oranges, peas, radishes, rhubarb, spinach, strawberries, and tangerines.

Enjoy the end of Winter! Longer days are ahead and hopefully nice weather.
