February has 29 day this year so be sure to find Leap Year savings wherever you shop! The two biggest holidays this month are are Valentine’s Day and President’s Day. In addition, Ground Hog Day, Chinese New Year, and Mardi Gras fall during this month. This usually means sales for us!  Valentine’s Day is the 14th of the month, but that can be  the most expensive day to buy Flowers, Fragrances, and Chocolates. Look for deals! Ordering Flowers? Place your order early to take advantage of coupon code specials that can help bring the price down and also reserve your order. The real bargains, though, come on the 15th! If you aren’t seeing your sweetie until then or after, put off buying your signs of affection. If you are planning a celebration after the holiday, you’ll even get Party Favors, Décor, and Candy half-off.

Love is in the air this month. If Fragrances are the desire of your loved one’s heart, many department stores will have bonus gift extras when you buy so you’ll get more for your money. Don’t forget drug stores like CVS, Walgreens, or Rite-Aid. You might been able to add coupon deals to their selections.

Sexy women’s Lingerie will be on display everywhere, especially at the specialty shops like Victoria’s Secret. Go there or online, to get the best deals. Jewelry will be on sale, especially anything related to love, at larger stores like Macy’s, Walmart, and Bloomingdale’s. They will have  advertised specials.

Beauty and Skincare products will be marked down, especially if the packaging is Winter-related. Look for those especially!

After Valentine’s Day, you will be able to get restaurant specials. The eateries are much less crowded then than they would be on Valentine’s Day. Some cities even have Restaurant Week which means you can get a delicious meal for lot less than normal. But let’s not forget take-out meals. Support your favorite place and dine-in.

National Frozen Yogurt Day falls annually on February 6. Although it is during the middle of Winter, many yogurt shops offer FREE yogurt! FREE is FREE! Check around your area to see what shops are celebrating the food holiday this year.

Filing your own taxes? This is the time to buy the Tax Software you need. Stores like Staples have a great variety for all your needs.

Last year’s Electronics models need to go before the new versions come out at electronics shows. This includes HGTVs (especially near the Super Bowl 2-11) and Digital Cameras. Humidifiers will be marked down too!

Department stores consider the Winter season to be over so they are making room for Spring fashions. Before they send their warm-weather wear packing, you can get a great deal on a Winter coat as well as Sweaters, and other warm clothing as they will be discounted. There will be plenty of time to wear these this year or you can save until next year.

Speaking of warm weather. It’s not that far away! Air Conditioners and Outdoor Grills will start making appearance at big box stores. There will be a good selection and they will be less expensive now. Also, even if you are not in the market for anything new, this is the perfect time to have existing equipment serviced because the demand is less than in hot weather and your favorite mechanic will have time. This also goes for lawn mowers too.

President’s Weekend is a great time to shop for a Car. Whether leasing or buying you’ll save. Especially at the very end of the month when quotas are getting turned in.

Getting married? Less weddings book before March due to unpredictable weather. So many vendors from Photographers to Bands have less bookings and are more willing to negotiate prices.

Cruises are more affordable this time of the year. Look for deals during wave season.

Skip buying Luggage (buy in March), Android phones (buy in July or November), and Spring clothing (buy in April or May). Try to wait for the best savings.

In the grocery store just about everything related to Valentine’s Day: candy, seafood, steak, red and heart-themed paper goods will be on sale on the 15th. Buy then and celebrate the rest of the year! Keep the paper goods until next year, unless you can get solid red colors that can be used for Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day celebrations. In addition, canned foods like Tuna, Chicken, Fruit, Pie Fillings, and Vegetables will be at special prices. For a hot breakfast combine coupons (fingers crossed) on Waffle Mixes, Syrup, and Breakfast Meats.  In the produce section you’ll find Artichokes, Raspberries, Potatoes, Strawberries, Broccoli, Carrots, Celery, Cauliflower, Chard, Collards, Kale, Kiwi, Spinach, and Avocados all in season.

Let’s hope Spring is around the corner!
