After the holidays our tablecloths look worse for the wear! If oily stains are the problem, sprinkle cornstarch over the area as soon as possible to absorb any grease. Leave on for 10 minutes. Then brush off. Gently rub in 1 teaspoon of dish detergent on the spot and rinse off with warm water. Wash as usual. If you should spill gravy, (who doesn’t?),scrape off the excess with a plastic knife before sprinkling on the cornstarch. Out of cornstarch? Baby powder will work too!
