If you think you are saving on electric bills by not running your dishwasher too often you are wrong! It turns out hand washing dishes uses TEN times as much hot water than the dishwasher does! Just scrape your dishes, NEVER pre-rinse. Try to wait until bedtime when electric costs are lower.
