Tip of the Day: Prevent Outdoor Lighting Rusting with Vaseline

Your porch light bulb blew out. When you tried to replace it, you had a hard time because the socket rusted. To prevent this from happening again, coat the light bulb’s thread with Vaseline before installing. This creates a water-proof coating that not only will prevent rust from forming but lubricates it making it easier to remove next time.
