Making a salad? Save the cucumber peels! Why? If you have stainless steel appliances, faucets, even cutlery you can shine them cheaply, easily, and quickly with the skin from cucumbers. These green coverings contain a mildly  alkaline potassium that will draw out the dirt and tannins that are the cause of tarnish on steel surfaces. These little helpers are powerful enough to remove fingerprints leaving a glossy shine. Your kitchen will smell fresh too.
