Tip of the Day: A Potato Ensures a Longer Lasting Bouquet
Do you ever wish fresh-cut flowers would last longer? Well, now they can! The next bouquet you receive, do this before placing it in a water-filed vase: cut a potato in half then place flat side down in an opaque vase. Poke holes into the spud with a skewer; one for each stem you have. Now tuck a stem into each hole. Fill the vase with water. The potato will keep your flowers healthy and vibrant because of it’s nutrients. An extra bonus, the stems will stay in place.
